Bouclème Seal + Shield Curl Defining Gel de 300 ml, vista frontal

Choose the hold your curls need. Compare two Bouclème defining gels: fragrance-free medium hold or glycerin-free medium-to-strong hold. Explore their differences and choose for your waves, curls and humidity conditions.

Which curl gel should you choose?

300 ml gelHold and choice
Fragrance FreeMedium hold. No added fragrance; contains glycerin. For those prioritising a fragrance-free formula and a flexible finish after softening the cast.
Seal + ShieldMedium-to-strong hold. Glycerin-free. For extra hold and maintaining definition in humid conditions.

If hair feels crunchy, wait until it is dry

Gel can form a layer called a cast as it dries. Once hair is completely dry, gently scrunch to soften it. Repeatedly touching hair while drying can affect the finish.

How to use defining gel

  1. Work section by section through soaking wet hair, following the product directions.
  2. Scrunch upwards to support your curl pattern.
  3. Let hair dry without handling it, then soften the cast.

Do I need cream before gel?

Only if you need more conditioning. Cream adds softness, while gel adds hold. Compare our curl creams and leave-ins and adjust amounts to avoid overloading hair.

If you add cream, pair Seal + Shield Curl Cream with its gel for a glycerin-free routine, or Fragrance Free Curl Cream with its gel to avoid added fragrance in both steps. Products are sold separately.

Are glycerin-free and fragrance-free the same?

No. They are separate attributes. Compare the ingredient list and hold as well as any naturally derived ingredients you prefer.

Is stronger hold always better?

Not necessarily. Choose for your preferred finish and how your hair responds. Amount, the rest of your routine and drying also influence the result.
