Manuka honey is native to New Zealand. Traditionally, honey was used to treat cuts, sores and even burns.
Many studies have been published on manuka and they all show antimicrobial, antifungal and healing properties due to a component called β-triketones. Some studies have shown that manuka oil inhibits the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria involved in acne. (with a concentration less than 1.5%)
Our manuka oil comes from New Zealand and contains over 20% MBTK.
Manuka oil in squalane can be used anywhere on the face or body.
